About Me

I have a Film BA from DMU and a Screenwriting MA from UAL; I’m now looking to build my portfolio, advertise myself, and break into the industry.

Early Days/ Studies

I was a late bloomer when it came to loving the media, but when I bloomed, I bloomed hard. An amazing media teacher helped me find my passion, through film, and helped me secure an A grade.

Knowing I wanted to be involved in the industry, but not sure what aspect, I applied for a Film Studies BA at De Montfort University- Leicester. There I learnt lots about all aspects of film, but I primarily gravitated to screenwriting.

From ‘The Assignment’ short film (in portfolio), and the screenwriting module in the third year, I found a real passion for creating exciting stories with, funny, fleshed out characters.

The natural next step was to polish my craft through a masters, and the course at UAL was extremely industry based helped prepare its students for the future.

Throughout the course I learnt all aspects of screenwriting from; formatting, character arcs, dialogue, structure, how to work collaboratively, how to give feedback in a constructive manner, theme, pacing, etc.

Since Graduation

Since graduating with a distinction in 2021 I have been working on my TV idea “The Second coming of Christie”, and have been looking for work on set.

I mostly write Comedy, Drama, and Sci-Fi but I’m capable in many other genres.

I think the most important aspect of a good show/film is in the characters. If the plot is interesting but the characters are as flat as a pancake, then it’s generally not worth my time. I always aim to make memorable, witty characters, that have great flaws- but an empathetic inner-drive too.

For a few years I volunteered at ‘Lift-Off Global Network’, as a Script Reader- I reviewed and wrote extended feedback weekly. Also, I used to get paid to write reports for ‘The Golden Script Competition’.

Recently, I have been working as a Script Supervisor on film sets- I’ve been expanding my network and knowledge hugely.

Podcast

I am currently developing a podcast called Media Messed My Mind’, episode 1 is out, more to come soon!

Script Supervising

I’ve been credited on two medium-budget Short films, and one high-budget Short film. I have also worked on a TV pilot, in which I organised and assembled a small group of Script Supervisors to cover all days of the shoot. Also, I made sure we all formatted in the same way, and uploaded into the same place.

I’ve also completed a few courses including- Script Supervision and Continuity Masterclass (Raindance, 2023) and Script Supervision Online Masterclass with Dawn Gilliam (TheYoungtrepreneurs, 2024). Both massively helped develop my Script Supervising skills.

‘Dinner, Diamonds, and Death’ Short Film

I co-wrote a short film and worked as script supervisor on it too. It was filmed in September of 2024. More details can be found in the portfolio segment

‘Her Love’ Short film.

I’m currently working with a BAFTA Shortlisted Producer and Director on their next short film! I co-wrote the script and help out how I can. We are currently looking for funding.
